Game for Tonight (Game for It #3) by Karen Erickson

Game For Tonight (Entangled Brazen) (Game for It) - Karen Erickson

There were many parts of this story that I loved, but there were some that I really didn't like as well. Aubrey and Flynn both work for the Hawks football team - so a relationship is off limits. But they've been dancing around the flirtations for awhile so their close friends aren't too surprised when something happens. Their bosses are quite upset though and set up a plan for them to have a "pretend" relationship.

This is the part of the story line I just didn't get. Why ask them to have a pretend relationship when they are basically starting a real one? It just didn't seem to flow very well and I knew it was there just to cause a conflict later - which of course it did. It seemed like it was a conflict just for the sake of having a conflict. There were plenty of other issues that could have been used to cause the drama and intensity that you see in romance novels. Oh, and the whole star football player still being a virgin just seemed a bit unbelievable in general.

What I really liked was the way the side characters interacted with our main characters and the obvious chemistry between Flynn and Aubrey. They were made for each other. They had sex a little too often - I wanted more story, but the story that was there was very well written and I was rooting for them to make it work long term the whole way through.

My favorite part of the book was the final football game. Karen Erickson really built up the intensity and I felt like I was there cheering for the team right along with everyone else. I held my breath and crossed my fingers and squealed a little inside when they made a good play. It was a great ending and a very emotional one for everybody in such a great way.
